Abstract
|
|
|
Objectives£º This study aimed to investigate socio-demographic and clinical characteristics of first episode schizophrenia to improved therapeutic compliance after discharge from a psychiatric hospital in patients with first episode schizophrenia.
Methods£º After grouping of follow-up and drop-out patients through chart review with 74 first episode schizophrenia patients admitted at department of psychiatry of Chosun university hospital from Jan. 1 2003 to Dec. 31 2007, differences between the two groups were investigated about socio-demographic and clinical characteristic.
Results£ºFollow-up patients¡¯ global assessment functioning score was higher than drop-out patients¡¯ global assessment functioning score. Follow-up patients had recommend advised discharge mode, but drop-out patients had against discharge mode. There were significant differences in factors of global assessment functioning score(p=.002) and mode of discharge(p=.043) between the both group.
Conclusions£ºClinicians should be concerned for global assessment functioning score and mode of discharge to improve compliance after discharge.
